Today’s Passage – Genesis 27 – 28 (Click on the references to listen to the audio – Click here to view the passage from Blue Letter Bible)
(Second Milers also read – Matthew 19 – 20; Proverbs 10; Psalms 46 – 50)

(Gen 28:1-5) And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. (2) Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother’s father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother’s brother. (3) And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; (4) And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham. (5) And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padanaram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.
Good morning. If you look at the previous chapter, chapter 27, you know that Jacob lied to his dad so he could steal Esau’s blessimg. Even Isaac said that Jacob shall be blessed. But would God use sin to acomplish His purpose? No He would not. If you look back at the sin in your own life, and you will find some, The Bible says…
(Rom 3:10) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
And…
(Rom 3:23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
And while we look back at what Christ did on the cross for us, those of the Old Testement were looking forward to the sacrifice of Christ.
Jacob had to work hard for Laban’s daughters and the live stock he received.
(Pro 13:15) Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
But God did bless him.
The LORD watches over those who are His, and He takes care of them. Right now I am going through Chemo. I had my first round on this past Thursday. The second round will be this coming Thursday for Thirteen weeks total. Running along side of this will be another Chemo treatment every three weeks for the next year. But I know in Proverbs 13:15 that the way of the trangressor is hard. But I also know John 16:33…
(Joh 16:33) These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
To all my readers with cancer, be of good cheer; Jesus is stronger than cancer.
Peace!
