Daniel 10-12

When Will It All End?

I love the Book of Daniel. I love all the end time prophecies. But did you ever get so frustrated about the things going on in your life that you cried out: “When will it all end!?”

Daniel 12:10 tells us that many shall be purified, made white, and tried. The wicked are still going to do wickedness. Isn’t that the way it is today? It just seems that the wicked out-number the purified. The gap grows larger every day. Paul gave us a perfect description of our times in 2Timothy 3…

2Ti 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Now I can’t tell you when it will all end. But I can give you a glimpse into the future. It’s not only for the future, it is for now. Thinking about everything going on at the church, people going through rough times, and even the problems of my own family; at 1:30 am, in the break room of the Cape May Home Depot, Friday morning, I opened my New Testament. My eyes fell on Psalm 150…

Psa 150 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.  Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

The Lord knows the right thing to say at the right time. Now instead of a frustrated cry of anguish, a cry of praise comes out: “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

Praise the Lord for whatever day you have today.
