Read the 0211 Evening and Morning devotion for today, by the late Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.” (Leviticus 23:1-2)

And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.” (Leviticus 23:44)

Good morning. Here in Leviticus 23, between verses 2 and 44, are listed the Feasts of the Lord. Leviticus 23:3 is The Sabbath. The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread is Leviticus 23:4-8. The Feast of the Firstfruits is Leviticus 23:9-14. The Feasts of Weeks is Leviticus 23:15-22. Leviticus 23:23-25 is the Feast of Trumpets. The Day of Atonement is Leviticus 23:26-32. And the Feast of Booths is Leviticus 23:33-43. But these are not the feasts I am waiting for, I’m waiting for two other feasts…

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.” (Revelation 19:17-21)

Can you imagine, when we return with the Lord, with the word of His mouth He will turn His enemies into a feast for all the birds. But the best feast comes just before…

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” (Revelation 19:6-9)

What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see, And I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace; When He takes me by the hand, and leads me through the Promised Land, What a day, glorious day that will be.

Peace.
